Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation Proudly Presents the third annual Troy’s Toy Drive benefiting Salvation Army, Hospital for Sick Children, Halton Women’s Place and McMaster Children’s Hospital.

Following a history making TigerFest event in Brampton, the Tigers, Troy Newton and their respected family & friends are once again at it, in trying to enrich the lives of children and the less fortunate during the holiday season! Their 3nd annual “Troy’s Toy Drive” takes place on Monday, December 19th from 6 AM to 9 AM at Troy’s Diner (Best Western Plus Milton Inn location).

The past two toy drives have brought in close to $100,000 worth in donations and this year, Troy’s Toy Drive is hoping to double that number. The objective of Troy’s Toy Drive is to promote the spirit of giving among all faiths and religions. As proud Canadians it gives individuals that do not celebrate the holidays religiously an opportunity to share with those that do. Donations collected will go towards supporting families and patients of all faiths and religious beliefs.

Breakfast will be served, carols will be sung, autographs and pictures will be taken with wrestling’s living legend Tiger Jeet Singh, Canada’s most famous hockey dad Walter Gretzky, wrestling superstar Tiger Ali Singh, hockey legend Johnny Bower and Breakfast Television’s host Jennifer Valentyne.

“Troy’s Toy Drive” will once again be aired live on Breakfast Television on CityTV. Live performances will be made by recording artist Prita Chhabra, and a host of many others.

Toronto, ON – Wrestling Legend Tiger Jeet Singh, his son former WWE Superstar Tiger Ali Singh and their dear friend Troy Newton spearheaded The Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation’s efforts and has announced a record setting $60,000 in food and toys was raised as a result of Troy’s Toy Drive 2010, doubling the $30,000 raised last year.

This past Monday, Toronto’s #1 morning show Breakfast Television aired live from Troy’s Diner, with reporter Jennifer Valentyne covering over 1000 supporters attending during the day from across Ontario. Milton restaurateur Troy Newton donated all proceeds from the luncheon to the Toy Drive, as customers opened their hearts and pockets for the less fortunate over the 6 hour fundraiser.

Tiger Jeet Singh and his son Tiger Ali Singh signed hundreds of autographs and offered the crowd numerous speeches of encouragement, as did hockey legends Walter Gretzky and Johnny Bower.

Music was provided by numerous bands including the Salvation Army Brass Quartet and Milton Choristers, in addition to a special “Christmas Around The World” performance by recording artist Prita Chhabra and bhangra dancers from the Sonay Gabroo Punjab De (SGPD) team.

On Tuesday, Tiger Jeet Singh and Tiger Ali Singh also visited The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) to read and provide autographs for numerous children and parents. Accompanying the Tigers was their dear friend Troy Newton along with their respected family members.

As toys and Best Buy electronic items were distributed to the kids by Scotia Bank representatives for all the patients to use in the Hospital, Milton Today TV reporter and singer Kelly Macintyre sang a variety of Christmas carols for the kids alongside Prita Chhabra.

Troy’s Toy Drive ended up raising $60,000 in toys and food and was featured in several local media outlets.

The wrap-up breakfast and celebration of the second annual Troy’s Toy Drive was held Monday at Troy’s Bar and Grill (at the Best Western Inn).

Roughly $60,000 in toys, clothes and cash donations was collected this time around in support of the Salvation Army, Halton Women’s Place and Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.

This was nearly double the total of last year’s inaugural drive.

I just wanted to write this letter to let everyone out there know that with some kids the true meaning of Christmas still does exist.

My 2 young sons ages 6 and 8, have made me so proud. A friend of ours who owns 2 restaurants in Milton does a toy drive every year, to ensure that children in need will receive a toy on Christmas morning. He sent out an email to everyone he could to ask for help with this charity. I mentioned this to my 8 year old son Logan. Within 10 minutes he was in his room and then in the basement. I enquired what he was doing. He informed me that he and his younger brother Dylan were going through their old toys to sell.

“Mom we are doing a toy store “.

I asked him why? Both of them informed me that they were going to tell everyone that they knew about their toy store, so that they could help Troy give all the kids a new toy at Christmas. They are going to donate all of the money that they earn to this wonderful wonderful charity.

Boy did my eyes water. To think that these 2 boys thought not of themselves but of those children out there that are not as fortunate as themselves. I like to think that I am instilling the right values in my sons. I also have to thank St. Joesph school in Acton, for continuing in their education with good Catholic values. To always think of others before yourself, and to always care. To put forth your best, and always make others feel important. Mr. Simpson is an amazing principal, enforcing with the staff, what we as parents do at home!

I told my family of this, and they have offered to help the boys out. So we put our heads together, and have decided to have an indoor garage sale with a used TOY STORE. As well we will be having a bake sale and raffle prizes. With proceeds going to Troys Toy Drive, and St.Vincent’s for St. Joseph school.

The more kids we can help, is the more smiles on Christmas morning. If any one wants details they can reach us at 519-362-4894.

In this day and age, with so much wrong in this world, and with negativity all around my 2 Christmas angels have shown me that Christmas miracles still do exist, and that it is not all about getting the newest , or most expensive toy out there. It is about giving to others, and making sure that no child is without a gift on Christmas morning.
